Today’s Reason To Drink

I’ve got my eye on crashing the Taste of Derby event on April 22 — anyone want to sponsor me? You have to buy your tickets early, none will be sold at the door. Here are the details:

Celebrating its 23rd year, the Dare to Care Food Bank “Taste of Derby Festival” will be held Thursday, April 22nd, 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Pavilion at Louisville Slugger Field.

Sponsored by Brown-Forman Corporation, the “Taste of Derby Festival” is one of the most popular events of the Kentucky Derby Festival and the largest fundraising event for Dare to Care Food Bank.

Sample extraordinary fare from over 50 of the Louisville’s finest restaurants and beverage companies!  Guests will experience good food, bourbon tasting, and wine tasting.  The “Best Bloody Mary Contest”, won by Irish Rover in 2009 is sponsored by Finlandia Vodka.  Irish Rover is returning to try and reclaim the title for the second year in a row.   Last year, the “People’s Choice Award” was won by Bonefish Grill with their famous Saucy Shrimp.  Join us and vote for your favorite restaurant in 2010!

Tickets are $75 each ($50 of which may be tax deductible) and may be purchased online at www.tasteofderbyfestival.org or by calling Dare to Care Food Bank at 966-3821. All proceeds stay local to help struggling Kentuckiana families.
