I kinda get nervous when things just pop up in front of me — the clown in a jack-in-the-box, rabbits in front of my car and things I did with boys in my 20s all come to mind. But then I found out about this new Angel’s Envy pop-up bar, and all my worries went by the wayside. I wish more bars would just pop up into my life when I’m walking down the street or even just laying on my couch.

Anyway, back to this bar. It’s only here till Sunday, so be sure to get over there in the next few days. It’s located at 400 E. Main St. directly across from Slugger Field and features standard bourbon cocktails like a Manhattan, Old Fashioned and Mint Julep, as well as experimental cocktails like Angel’s Sazerac (Angel’s Envy Rye, absinthe and peychauds) and Austin Angel (Angel’s Envy, lemon juice and basil). They’re also rolling out the new Angel’s Envy Rye whiskey, which is finished in Caribbean rum casks — yum! Best of all, all proceeds benefit the Kentucky Bourbon Historical Society, whose mission is to open a bourbon museum downtown!
