Today’s Reason To Drink

letsdrinkIt took 18 days to reflect, mourn, wallow in self-pity, battle with anger, wrestle with sadness and then vow to move on to bigger and better things after my 15 years with LEO Weekly. I wish them all the luck in the future of the publication. I realize my time was up — I had given the paper all I had and was longing for more resources, more staff, more focus on editorial quality from management. None of that was going to happen until we started making money, and I can’t argue with that from a business standpoint.

I’m proud to launch this site today, which is 100% mine. And I was able to get my old posts from my former Bar Belle column to load here, so all my past is on proud display, for better or worse. I will resume the daily reasons to drink, new bar reviews, breaking news in the bar and liquor industries, and asinine posts about nothing. My intent is to make you smile and keep you informed on Louisville’s nightlife community.

Feel free to leave comments, share posts and give feedback. Please keep sending me drunk texts. And if you happen to sit next to me at the bar, I’ll take a bourbon on the rocks.

It’s good to be back.
