Don’t ask, don’t tell.

Lesson learned: Do not ask someone a question if you do not want to hear the answer.

As “How’d your dentist appointment go?” rolled off my tongue in the direction of my co-worker, I immediately recognized it was a mistake. I was fork deep into a salad and already queasy thinking about the fact I was eating both an egg and a chicken.

Did I really care how it went? Did I really want to hear intimate details of flossing, plaque buildup and bloody gums?

I ordered a cease and desist on consuming my lunch. This might be my new diet plan.
