A bucket of beer is only $9 during happy hour.

It’s always an adventure at the train beer place, aka Derby City Pizza (near the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Crittenden). And it’s not even the excitement for a train to come (which drops the price of bottled domestics to $1.50).

Last night I met a nice fellow who used to play football for UofL. Yes, I had him look over my fantasy football teams and took his advice, which was that I should watch ESPN every morning. Hmm, not sure about that.

Also met a couple who had an opinion on every single menu item — from meatballs to baked spaghetti. They gave the meatballs a thumbs up, and the pizza a so-so.

Interesting night.

(P.S. Yes, I’m back on Miller Lite from Bud Light because it has half the carbs. My domestic beer of choice is Mich Ultra, but most places, including this one, don’t offer Ultra at happy hour or train beer prices.)
