When he was pleading for two tickets to paradise, little did we know he was talking about Kentucky. Apparently 80s crooner Eddie Money has designed a wine label for a Kentucky winery, and it’s all for a good cause.
The Chrisman Mill Winery, located in Lexington’s Hamburg Village, recently introduced its latest bottle of Old Friends “Artist Signature Wine.” According to the press release, the bottle of Vidal Blanc is the fourth in an ongoing celebrity series. The label was drawn and donated by pop singer Eddie Money to benefit Old Friends, the Thoroughbred Retirement Facility in Georgetown, Ky. And for each bottle sold (retail: $21.99), Old Friends, home to more than 50 rescued and retired racehorses, will receive $8 from the proceeds.
Personally I think the label is kinda cheesy, but who doesn’t want a frickin bottle of wine by Eddie Money in their wine collection? Take me home tonight? Shit, I’ll take five of you home! They’re available at all Liquor Barn locations, but hurry, there were only 1,000 bottles made.
That be shakin’.
For those interested, Chrisman Mill is having a launch party for Eddie’s wine on Friday July 10 7pm at its Hamburg Plaza retail space in Lexington. Tastings, food, live music. The wine will be on sale.
