The El Tropical margarita at Mellow Mushroom uses pineapple juice instead of sour mix. It’s so yummy, I had more than two!

Here’s a link to my thoughts on the new Mellow Mushroom in the Highlands. I love the new building and the space — it definitely makes the neighborhood feel even more eclectic.

Some people are dissing it because it’s a chain. Don’t get me wrong, Wick’s will always be my favorite pizza in town, but if a chain is willing to invest on a unique space that makes the Highlands even cooler, I say go for it. And if you don’t want to frequent a chain, then walk a block and go to Wick’s or Flanagan’s, or head the other way and go to Impellizzeri’s or Bearno’s.

It’s a free country, so the choice is yours.
