$5 Mojitos on Monday, July 11!

If it makes you happy, it can’t be that bad. And drink specials and fancy bars make me really, really happy.

Case in point, Varanese, the hip, slightly upscale restaurant and bar on Frankfort Avenue in Clifton just sent me their July drink specials, and they’re pretty decent. Plus, they are paired with national observances that I was unaware of — so that’s a bonus.

Here’s the list:

• Monday, July 11 — National Mojito Day: $5 Mojito special
• Wednesday, July 13 — National French Fry Day: $5 Poutine special (a Canadian dish that includes french fries and cheese curds topped with a light brown gravy). No drinks special here, so just order a beer!
• Sunday, July 24 — National Tequila Day: $5 Margarita special
• Thursday, July 28 — National Hamburger Day: Free draft beer with the purchase of the restaurant’s classic “V” Burger (chargrilled grass fed beef topped with smoked mozzarella, crispy prosciutto and Chef John’s V-12 sauce)
